For over 15 years GAUNT FILMS has also been creating original films. We focus on telling compelling stories with captivating characters that aim to provoke a deeper understanding of the human experience. We recently produced the sci-fi short DAYS END about an impending apocalyptic event that alters a young man’s outlook on life. We also co-produced the PBS documentary ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE about a group of Chicago artists that convert an old metal stamping factory into artist live/work lofts. Our feature documentary A PLACE CALLED HOME: AN ADOPTION STORY won a “Crystal Heart Award” at The Heartland Film Festival, “Audience Award for Best Feature” at the Indianapolis International Film Festival and premiered on PBS.
